Thanks to Maples PTO the entire 4th grade went on a field trip to the Detroit Institute of Art and to the Historical Museum. 

It was awesome! Here are some photos of our great day!

A Real Mummy!

This lit table shows how a meal may have been served long ago.  It was very cool!

We discovered 'what was happening' in some of the artwork by using Visual Thinking Strategies.  This means that the viewer actually 'figures' out the story in the piece and informs the group about what they think.
