Art Field Trip to Ann Arbor

Some 4th and 5th grade students were invited on a field trip to Ann Arbor.  We visited the Slusser Gallery at the University of Michigan to view a show called "Aging with Attitude".  Maples had 12 pieces of student work in the show. 5th grade studnets drew pictures of themselves when they are old and wrote a story to go with them.

In my life I have been at Harvard University. I have also won the lottery and won 65 million dollars. My wife is in Florida for a business job and I have a son who is a very successful lawyer. I am retired, but I used to work as an owner of a construction company. I still run my own business from home but I still remember all of the good teachers at Maples Elementary School! I am a grandpa as well. I have three grandchildren. They always visit me. I could not imagine a better life than this!
Hi! . I went to Maples Elementary School and then to Stout Middle School and Dearborn High School. I went to college to become a designer. I designed clothes, cars, games and lots more. I get money to travel and I have a puppy that travels with me. I am not married. My dog is like my kid. I love her a lot. She’s like an angel and that is why I named her angel.
Hi! It is my retirement day. I am 63 years old. At age 35 I won $8 million. I have a mansion, a wife, and 3 kids. Two boys and one girl. I went to Maples Elementary School, Stout Middle School and Dearborn High School. I also went to the University of Michigan. My career was spent as a computer engineer. My kids all want to be artists. My wife is a writer. I visit my mom and dad all of the time. I have a very high salary that I don’t want to tell anybody. My favorite sport is soccer. In the 10th grade I did a report about light and got an A+. In all grades I earned a 4.0 average. For my 62nd birthday, my children got me five courtside tickets to a Pistons game. It was awesome. I tried to make a computer that makes holograms. It didn’t turn out so well. It grew metal arms and legs and chased me. Somebody came in, saw what happened and unplugged the cord. The next day, it was on the news. I was so embarrassed I could have exploded.
I wrote an autobiography about myself.
When I am 53 years old I am going to be very rich and buy a lot of things. I will go to see my sisters and go hang out with them. I will take my kids to the park and go to visit my parents. That is what I am going to do when I am 53.
After I left Maples Elementary I went to Stout Middle School. I played on the football and basketball teams. On the football team I was the running back. On the basketball team I was the forward-center. After I left Stout I went to Fordson High School. At Fordson I joined the basketball team. I played the same positions as middle school. I was such an excellent player and such a smart student that I got accepted to the University of Michigan. At the college my friend and I were on the basketball team. Our team was undefeated! We also won the championship! I was the MVP!
My friend and I were inducted into the NBA draft.
I was drafted by the Lakers and my friend went to the Mavericks. After we each spent one year on our teams we were both traded to the Pistons. We played on that team for 10 years. After that we retired and were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
I went back to school to become a doctor. I was in school for 12 years. When I was done with school I opened up my own doctors office.
One year after that I met a woman that I married. (I won’t mention details)
I was a doctor for 29 years. In those years I had nine children. After my 29 years I retired. Now, I will travel all around the world until I die.
I am in Maples Elementary school in 5th grade. Next year I will be going to Stout Middle School. Also, I will be going to high school at Dearborn High and then I will learn to drive. After that I will go to college and I will graduate. Then I will get a job being a teacher. Next I will retire when I turn 65 years old. Then I will have time to relax at my home. I will go on a vacation with my great family to Canada and we will be going to a hotel and sit there for a couple of days. Then when I come back I will visit my school.
When I graduated from Maples Elementary School I went on to Lowrey Middle School, and then to Fordson High School. Graduating from high school was the scariest thing because the next thing was college. I was successful in college and became an artist. Most of my paintings had something that was pink or ivory. My kids followed in my footsteps and did the exact same thing with their lives. That is how I lived my life.
This is me near the mountains walking down the street in Denver going to bingo night. Last night I won 10 packs of chocolate pudding. That was a special day. I am 79 years old in this picture. I got married and had two sons and one daughter. My daughter is married and one of the boys is married. I have seven grandchildren. The oldest one is 20 years old. I was successful with my career. I worked at Ford Motor Company. I designed a new car in the year 2030. I became rich and was set for life. The car was called “The Rusher”. It was popular in Japan. I retired from the Ford Motor Company in the year of 2040. I am taking my cat Jerry with me to bingo night. He is good luck. The best part is I’m healthy and don’t have high cholesterol because I eat Cheerios and that’s what happened to my life.
This is me when I am 81 years old. I was a pharmacist and I graduated from college. I got married and had a boy and a girl. They both got a job and graduated from college. The also got married and moved out. Now I live by myself because my husband went to California. He won the lottery and always dreamed of going there. I went to Florida and Las Vegas when I was 24 years old. My children are in Florida, both of them.
This is the life I had.
This is me when I am old. I am at the beach with my dog Gilly. I was a policeman but I retired because I was an old man. I have grandkids and friends that come over to my house sometimes. I go fishing with my grandkids. I live in Florida. It’s a nice state. I have a nice car and I have pet fish and a dog. He’s five years old. I am 75 years old and I miss the old days. I miss my teachers from when I was in the 3rd grade. My mom and dad come over to my house too. They are nice people.
Now I’m 65 and I wish I was still 10 and that’s how it’s been. The younger days were fun, but now they are still fun. In the younger days I wished I were older just so nobody would tell me what to do. But now it’s just not fun because nobody tells me what to do!! But it’s okay to be 65. When I was about 11 or 12 I went to Stout Middle School. Then I went to Dearborn High School and finally I went to college.
My job was a teacher and I loved my class.
I always wished to go back to Lebanon and I did when I was younger than this. I haven’t been to Lebanon for about 7 years. My grandma and grandpa have passed away, but my mother and father are still alive. My older brother has gotten married and has four children. One named Kristena is 8 years old and Meranda is 5 years old and is the youngest in the family. The others are named Mohammed and Zac and they are six year old twins. My youngest sister is married to a nice, sweet man.
Well I hope I stay alive for a good while and have an awesome old granny life. Oh, I forgot to mention that I got married to a guy whose name is Mohammed and who is really sweet and I had six children.
When I grow up I am going to have 3 kids. One boy and two girls. (maybe) I’m sure that I am going to have wrinkles and gray or white hair. I am going to be living in Lebanon, maybe. I am not going to be as active as I am now. I will go on adventures in Lebanon in the woods where there are lots of trees. There will be snakes and foxed and deer. My job was being a teacher. I went to Maples Elementary School, Stout Middle School and Dearborn High School. I graduated from Lebanon’s college. My family and I own two mansions. One is in Lebanon and one is in the United States. We have two Mustangs and one Durango.

After lunch we went to a place called the "Scrap Box" to make puppets with recycled materials.

What a great day!

At the Scrap Box each student got to take a bag of items home to create some more things!

thanks to Ms. Patricia and the parents for going along!
