My name is Fatme Faraj, principal at Maples Elementary School. It is an honor and privilege to be a principal to service our students and the entire school community. I have been working for Dearborn Public Schools for the past seventeen years. My assignments included classroom teacher, reading recovery specialist, coach and interventionist. Prior to this assignment, I had been an assistant principal at Lowrey School for the past five years. I hold a Bachelor Degree, a Masters Degree in Bilingual/Bicultural Education, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Michigan Dearborn.
I love working with children of all ages and see them learn and grown to be life long learners and productive citizens. I strive to create a school culture where all staff members truly believe that ALL students can and will learn. Using data to drive instruction and focusing on School Improvement Plan implementation in a “No Excuse Culture” is my primary goal for Maples students.
I am most proud of the positive and trusting relationship that I have developed with my students, staff, and the school community.
When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my children, family, and friends. I also enjoy spending my summer vacation with my parents in the village I grew up in-Bint Jbeil.
