WIDA test is a secure large-scale English language proficiency assessment given to Kindergarten through 12th graders who have been identified as English language learners (ELLs). It is given annually in WIDA Consortium member states to monitor students’ progress in acquiring academic English. Students who speak a language other than English are required to take the WIDA test. WIDA report gives information about your child’s level of social and academic English language proficiency. Social language is used to communicate for everyday purposes. Academic language is used to communicate the content of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
WIDA parent reports will be sent home with students. Sample WIDA parent letters in both Arabic and English are attached for your convenience.
