Mrs. Wozniak’s kindergarten class was on a mission yesterday to find the missing Gingerbread Man. The students in Mrs. Wozniak’s class have been reading all the versions of The Gingerbread Man in class. They’ve been talking about the various story elements: characters, setting, problem, and solution as well as comparing and contrasting the books. They’ve also done opinion writing stating about which gingerbread man book they like the best. Yesterday, they finally got to taste a gingerbread man, but not until after they went on a scavenger hunt to find him.
Mrs. Kim delivered a package to the classroom that had the first clue in it and 2 gingerbread cookies. The students looked for the gingerbread man all over Maples school, even in Mrs. Faraj’s office. They finally found him in their classroom and the kids decided to eat him. They used the 5 senses to investigate the gingerbread man and decided that he smelled like cinnamon and tasted yummy!
The kids loved the scavenger hunt! Lots of fun learning!
Enjoy some photos of the hunt!
