Impact Award To Recognize Non-Teaching Staff -Nominations from students and parents welcome to celebrate non-teaching staff members

Children become successful thanks to their own talents and initiative, but critical to getting them on the right track are the combined efforts of many adults, at home and in school.

Students and parents have the opportunity to make nominations for the Impact Award to recognize Dearborn Public Schools staff members, besides teachers, who make outstanding contributions to helping students, enhancing the classroom environment or providing excellent customer service in other roles.The deadline for submitting Impact Award nominations to the Dearborn Public Schools Office is noon on Friday, April 20, 2018.

Just as the Teacher of Year award celebrates the classroom teachers, the Impact Award recognizes all other (non-teaching) staff members who demonstrate the District’s Core Values and strive to create a better Dearborn Public Schools.  Nominees should be consistently professional, personable and polite as they work with students, contribute to the classroom environment, and provide overall customer service.

District employees who are eligible for the Impact Award include full or part time staff members employed with the Dearborn Public Schools for more than three years.

Examples of staff members who are eligible include Principals, Parapros, Custodians, Bus Drivers, Secretaries, Media Specialists, Food Service Staff, Social Workers, Skilled Trades, Computer Technicians, or anyone who is not a classroom teacher but works for the Dearborn Public Schools.

 Previous nominees may be nominated, however previous Impact Award winners may not win again.Nomination forms with a complete list of qualifications can be found and completed online at https://dearbornschools.org/district/news/155-2018-dearborn-public-schools-impact-award. Printed nomination forms may be requested at all school offices and the District’s Administration Office, 18700 Audette, Dearborn 48124.

Four winners will be announced on May 22 at the annual Green Tie Event, sponsored by the Dearborn Education Foundation.  Winners will receive $500 and an engraved award.
