The U.S.D.A. on Monday changed the requirement for student meal distributions, extending a provision that allows free meals to be handed out without verifying student information.
As a result, Dearborn Public Schools will NOT be requiring a student name and ID number at our weekly meal distributions (at least not yet). The change also means the meals are available for any student or child under 18.
Thursday, Sept. 3, will be the first day for the new school-year distribution program. After the first week, weekly meal packs will be distributed on Fridays, starting with Friday, Sept. 11.
