Congratulations to Ms. Restum and Mrs. Cehanowicz’s classes who won the Sportsman Champion trophy for the month of January. The sportsmanship Program is a new program implemented by our one and only Mr. Adam Stage.
Here is a description of the program:
The sportsmanship championship is a monthly award given to the class that earns the most points at the end of each month. The contest is broken up by grades, K-2 and 3-5. All classes start each week with 10 points and their job is to keep those points by following the class criteria.
1. Honesty
2. Respect- for self , others, and others ideas
3. Problem Solving– Stepping back and attempting to talk through the issue. Students learned to talk about tone of voice, pointing fingers, body language, and staying calm.
4. Bullying– Protecting self and others. Identifying bullying behavior, having courage to tell the bully to “STOP IT”, and understand that talking to an adult about being bullied or someone else that’s being bullied is not snitching.
5. Preparedness-Students must have gym shoes, appropriate dress and a positive attitude.
The class that maintains the most points at the end of the month will be the champions for that month. They will receive the championship trophy and the trophy gets to stay in their classroom until the next champion is crowned. Mr. Stage will take a class and individual pictures with the trophy and send these pictures to the parents vial email.
